Welcome to our second activity letter!
Before we begin, we’d like to take a moment to wholeheartedly express our gratitude for the entire staff, all of whom have made personal sacrifices to ensure that Ten Thousand operates at the highest possible level of resident service even during these difficult times. Working beyond the call of duty, our team has been resolute in providing solutions to resident requests, and many, including our General Manager Michael Du Chateau, had to leave their homes and temporarily move into the building in order to serve residents to our maximum capacity and to ensure uncompromised availability. This perseverance to move through this together, as a team, is inspiring, and we thank you for appreciating our staff’s demonstrated commitment to Ten Thousand and its residents.

"During these uncertain times I am proud to be a part of such a great team.
Our team stands together to serve residents, fulfill their requests and we all step in for one another.
I take my job very personally and am happy to be here for our residents."

With all that’s transpired in a few short weeks we hope to shine a light through the dark! Like the Huff Post so eloquently put it, board games are now bored games, the NBA is MIA and Netflix and chill has lost its thrill. What to do? What to do? Here’s a handful of ideas to get you through this week.

|
1. Soothe sore muscles
Bring stress relief into your home and check out these tips on how to self-soothe or re-connect with your housemate and get them involved. Alternatively, grab a tennis ball and try out one of these tried and true tricks:
a. Roll out aching foot muscles on the tennis ball.
b. Place a tennis ball at the base of your neck and lie flat while the tension melts away.
c. Place the tennis ball at the small of your back and roll clockwise then counterclockwise.
d. Place the tennis ball under each glute and roll back and forth.
Afterall, massage has been proven to help de-stress, reduce anxiety and improve circulation. All good things we usually don’t have time to do!
2. Eating in?
Flunked out of Le Cordon Bleu? Channel your inner Ratatouille and take advantage of one of these meal delivery services instead:
a. Crateful Home Kitchen | Customized Meals for every diet type
b. Sakara Life | Vegan
c. Daily Harvest | Smoothies & Vegetarian
Whether you go Paleo, Raw Vegan or Keto, choose a meal plan that excites you and gives you something to look forward to at each meal.

3. Work it out
While we hope you are enjoying our daily, LIVE online classes (check the fitness tab on the app for dates and times), we want to provide you with additional, NO excuse, options to get moving! Click the links below to download pre-recorded workouts by our Crescent Heights team and you decide when is best to get your heart rate up!
BARRE 2 with Natalie
40 Minute Barre class in circuit format with cardio. Stretch, bend and get your heart beating.
FIT CAMP with Michelle
Full body workout with decreasing reps in each round for 2 sets of exercises. Rev your engine!
4. Fun for the kids
Keeping the littler residents occupied in times like these can be daunting. Before you turn to melatonin gummies for both you and your kids, try these fun, educational and interesting ideas:
a. Create an indoor scavenger hunt
b. Go to Yellowstone National Park… virtually
c. Take a virtual field trip to the San Diego Zoo
d. Visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium
e. Check out Go Noodle for some indoor exercise
f. Take an indoor tour of the Louvre
5. Dance like no one is watching
Let’s face it – no one is! Spruce up your Quaran-tunes and add some inspiration to your Spotify library! Or create your own videos via TikTok and inspire others with your sure to impress moves and baritone notes. Either way, music is scientifically proven to boost your mood, productivity and de-stress so put in your headphones (don’t forget you have neighbors) and turn it up!

|
6. Get some culture
The Metropolitan Opera is streaming nightly and Broadway HD has about 300 classic musicals, plays and shows. Get dressed up and take a trip to your living room for a night in. Open a bottle of champagne you’ve been saving or pour some sparkling water into a wine glass and top with citrus for effect.
